Con Fuerza
Con Fuerza is an Annie nominated thesis film by Director Andres Wewer and Producer Alejandro Mercado. It takes place in Colombia and follows a young Venezuelan immigrant, Liliana through her struggles working at a local tienda. I got the opportunity to make many of the props for this film as well as clothe and shoe a few of the beautifully felted characters. This is a beautiful story and I feel honored to be a part of it.
Lili's broom
Liliana's broom was made from a chip brush, polystyrene, and proxy. I sandwiched armature wire between the outer layers of the bristles and anchored it to a block of wood inside the body of the broom. This rigging allowed the animator to control the shape of the bristles in every frame and get some nice squash in the animation.
